A little side note to finish

Born near Bristol, Richard (aka Rich) has been drumming for longer than he can remember, but he experienced a total “road to Damascus” moment in the late 1990s, when he attended a djembe workshop led by Magatte Dieng, from Senegal, in Leicester.

He was so inspired that he journeyed by himself in 1999 to Essau, Gambia, to study djembe and sabar drumming, with another Senegalese master, Samba Coumba Ngom.

Rich’s passion for West African drumming and its benefits on the mind, body and soul shines through. He is an energetic, funny and vibrant teacher and performer.

The interconnected theme of 'Doing + Being + Becoming + Belonging' originates from Ann Wilcock's (2006) Occupational Therapy perspective, which highlights the profound impact of our activities, self-experience, growth, and social connections on survival and health.

Tracey was inspired to centre the retreat around this theme due to its significant interplay with midlife women's experiences of profound change.

She has a heartfelt longing for community and bringing people together through shared values and interest.

*I am beyond excited and hugely honoured to have Ash Mukherjee of Bollyjoy facilitate a dance workshop for us.

Ash was acclaimed by Dance Europe magazine as one of the finest Indian classical dancers of his generation.

He was also handpicked to dance a duet with Michael Jackson at the ‘This is it!’ show at the 02 in 2009.

Ash is a legend, and his session is not to be missed!
